Luigi Capone is computational scientist for large scale simulations at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) of the US Department of Energy.
His expertise is in compressible and incompressible computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for aerospace and nuclear applications, novel computing architectures and artificial intelligence for turbulence modelling.
Before joining ORNL, he was senior CFD developer and turbines design engineer at Rolls Royce plc in Derby, UK and research engineer at EDF R&D in Chatou, France.
He holds a PhD in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University and a M.S. in nuclear engineering from Politecnico di Milano. He was also visiting researcher at Imperial College London, UK.
